Spring is a lovely time of year for most of us. The longer days and warmer weather encourage us to get outdoors more often and get active. It’s lovely to see the plants starting to grow again, adding a splash of colour to our surroundings, and the birds are busy too, nest building and treating us to the dawn chorus every morning.
It can also be a great time to think about what we’d like to achieve or any changes we might like to make, to treat ourselves to a mental spring clean.
We still talk about spring cleaning our houses even though it’s much easier to keep our homes clean these days but it’s still nice to get the windows open and let some fresh air in.
Our minds sometimes need a bit of a spring clean too. We can get stuck in a rut of negative thinking, always looking at the worst possible scenario and letting those negative thoughts spiral out of control. It’s important to take time to re-evaluate our lives.
Try asking yourself a few questions: Do you feel valued? Are you satisfied in the job that you do? Are you in a happy relationship? Do you tend towards glass half full or glass half empty? If you’re not happy with the answers, then it may be time to consider making a few changes.
